You should not feel in the least bit shy about making the call. If a winemaker requires advance notice, it just means that he or she wants to be sure the tasting room is staffed that afternoon, and it is usually a sign that the person behind the bar will be the same person who goes out pruning the vines other days of the week.

This means that vineyard management on the property is high-tech.
