By Joachim Weickert (auth.), Bernd Michaelis, Gerald Krell (eds.)

This booklet constitutes the refereed complaints of the twenty fifth Symposium of the German organization for development popularity, DAGM 2003, held in Magdeburg, Germany in September 2003.

The seventy four revised papers provided have been conscientiously reviewed and chosen from greater than a hundred and forty submissions. The papers tackle all present matters in development acceptance and are equipped in sections on picture analyses, callibration and 3D form, acceptance, movement, biomedical purposes, and applications.

Epistemic Foundations of Fuzziness: Unified Theories on Decision-Choice Processes

This monograph is a therapy on optimum fuzzy rationality as an enveloping of decision-choice rationalities the place restricted info, vagueness, ambiguities and inexactness are crucial features of our wisdom constitution and reasoning procedures. the quantity is dedicated to a unified process of epistemic versions and theories of decision-choice habit less than overall uncertainties composed of fuzzy and stochastic forms.

Recent Advances in QSAR Studies: Methods and Applications

Contemporary Advances in QSAR reviews: tools and functions offers an interdisciplinary review at the most up-to-date advances in QSAR stories. the 1st a part of this quantity is handbook-esque and includes a accomplished assessment of QSAR technique written by way of notable scientists and hugely skilled academics.

Synergetics of Measurement, Prediction and Control

The digital processing of data allows the development of clever platforms in a position to conducting a synergy of self reliant dimension, the modeling of normal legislation, the keep watch over of techniques, and the prediction or forecasting of a big number of usual phenomena. during this monograph, a statistical description of average phenomena is used to improve a data processing approach able to modeling non-linear relationships among sensory information.

This has been achieved by seeking the matrix that minimises the sum of the distances to the other sample items in the Frobenius norm. Experiments on synthetic and real-world tensor fields show that the resulting median filter inherits important properties from its scalar-valued counterpart: It is robust against outliers and it preserves discontinuities. In our future work we plan to generalise other nonlinear filters in order to make them applicable to tensor field filtering. Acknowledgements. K. Jain Among all the biometric indicators, fingerprints have one of the highest levels of reliability and have been extensively studied and used by forensic experts in criminal investigations [2]. Although not scientifically established, fingerprints are believed to be unique across individuals, and across fingers of the same individual. Even identical twins having similar DNA, are believed to have different fingerprints. The process of automatic fingerprint matching is affected by the non-linear deformation introduced in the fingerprint impression during sensing.
