The risk assessment continues as an investigation progresses and should be part of the case conference agenda. Once a formal safeguarding plan is agreed the risk management stage has been reached. Both risk assessment and risk management through a safeguarding plan will be discussed fully in Chapter 9. However, it is important to say here that any conflict in opinion regarding the level of risk should always be written down not just discussed verbally.
